bw dance troupe

Dear all,
After a gazillion years at roulade.lj.com, I've finally decided to pack up and move because I wanted something new. I've finally taken the plunge after deliberating for months and agonizing over it. I need a change of environment to prod my dying lj horse along.

You'll find me at carroussella.livejournal.com (yes, that's a double r, double s and double l). Please update your bookmarks.

For my LJ friends, I've added all my regular reads to my new journal. I hope you'll add the new journal so I can continue to stay in touch.

roulade.lj.com will no longer be updated. Please don't come visiting here again; you'll only find a dusty house. Come visit at the new place and I promise to try my best to entertain.

xoxo, T

After 3 days and 6 hours of refreshing non-stop during class, I finally have a pair of F1 tickets for the inagural Grand Prix.

And on top of that, I've found the perfect fellow groupie to come along with me. Whee!

The last time I refreshed a page so constantly and so like a maniac was in Year 1, when I was bidding for CORS.

I don't believe I'm doing this for F1 tickets.... but I am.

How you make me laugh.

In the papers this morning...

A celebrated Muscovite (sp?) who is a pediatrician and somewhat high-ranking enough to poke his nose in the Youth Olympics business says:

"I mean, Beijing and Singapore are similar, so I don't know why Singapore would be allowed to host the YO two years after Beijing hosts the Summer Olympics. Afterall, they're both in Asia - South-east Asia."

Seems to be that Russia should be worrying about their citizens' appalling lack of geographical knowledge of their neighbors instead of whether we'll win YO or not.

Within the first 25 days of this year, I have fallen sick approximately four times. Which is the total number of times I fell ill in 2007.

The only consolation I have is 31 pages of Kelly Pochette glories and the fervent wishing that either Wall St and/or Madison has one, just for me, when I get there.

I do believe it's time again for another change....

The new Macbook Air

I originally contemplated the new Sony Vaio because it was ultra slim and came in gorgeous maroon, but it really was because (at that point in time) Apple hadn't launched a slim laptop. But now... *catches breath* I need to rethink all of that.

Of course, my Macbook is so new it's a pity to get rid of it, but hey, one can dream, eh?

I am such a tech geek at heart.

The new boss / Jas's constipated face / cam-whoring / YZ looking bored

We celebrated breakorbury_'s birthday with a little surprise lunch last Wednesday at Holland Village. It wasn't quite a surprise since I had to wait incredibly long for a parking lot and the birthday girl got there before me o_O

The many faces of Mizz Kwan ...

(P.S. The video was taken in portrait view so you'll have to turn your head in order to view it as it was meant to be)

2007 was, in actual fact, a rather uneventful year.

There were several hiccups, a couple of highs, lows here and there, but it passed without much pomp or fanfare. When asked to describe 2007 in retrospect, nothing stood out. None of those unforgettable memories (oh, there certainly are treasured ones, but nothing reaches out of your subconscious instantly and says "Remember me?!") and not many moments of regret.

But it was strangely good too.

I spent the midnight countdown lounging in my bathtub, soaking my pores silly and enjoying feeling clean after an entire day of traveling in grimy planes (no more budget again, ever.) with dodgy hygiene standards.

And it was refreshing.

I still feel refreshed, actually. Maybe you just need to start the year on the right note and suddenly everything falls into place. If the entire year goes exactly how my weekend has just gone, I think I'll be good.

And maybe, just maybe, some change will do me a whole lot of good.

Just because this picture always makes me want to cuddle up with this huge furball... (and also because I know mesunderstood will be stomping her feet in anticipation of birthday pics - I'm getting to it, I promise!)
